Almost every strength has a flip side:
“Even-tempered” → may avoid conflict for too long
“Reliable” → may not say no often enough
“Highly analytical” → can come across as harsh or detached
“Quick thinker” → may become impatient with others
“Responsible” → may find it difficult to let go of control
“Empathetic” → may lose sight of their own needs
The goal isn’t to become less reliable, empathetic, or responsible. It’s to notice when your superpower is no longer helping you and starts working against you.
What makes us strong is often also a response to something. A strategy we once needed … and that continues to drive us even where it no longer fits.
One useful question to ask is: What was this strength once the solution to? And what is it costing me today?
